Application
Sublimely versatile, the GHT efficiently harnesses the energy in currents in many different environments.
There is a
tremendous amount of energy available to the world in the form of
tidal currents. As the moon moves about the earth it creates a gravitational pull that moves large volumes of water, noticeable in ocean levels rising and falling accordingly.
When these rising and falling bodies of water meet land you find
currents.
There is also energy to be found
in the fresh flowing waters of the world, particularly streams and
rivers.
As the sun heats the oceans and lakes it causes evaporation. This moisture rises into the atmosphere to form clouds, and at a
critical point the moisture in the clouds reaches capacity and water is released in the form of
rain, snow, or sleet. When water follows the quickest route to the lowest
elevation we find streams and rivers.
When these same rivers or streams encounter a quick drop in
elevation, such as a cliff or small embankment built by humans, you
find a waterfall. The waterfall is perhaps the clearest example of the energy available in moving water; after all the waterwheel has been around for millennia. By drawing energy from water's many different forms, Lucid demonstrates strength in flexibility.
